This is an annual mix I make celebrating my favorite releases of the year with a song from each record. Topping this year’s list of favorite records are Weyes Blood’s Front Row Seat to Earth, Deakin’s Sleep Cycle, Morgan Delt’s Phase Zero, and Animal Collective’s Painting With. This mix is not sequenced in some sort of hierarchy (no. 1 album, no. 2 album, etc.), but rather in an order that seemed to make sense to me one night sitting on a patio overlooking the confluence of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez below, Venus and Orion above.
