i composed a careful explanation for posting this song, since it's quite different from my normal fare, as part of my sick need to justify everything i do. but i don't think i will write it. i don't want to feel the need to justify anymore.
i will say something about the picture, though. it's my driveway with the concrete partially re-poured after my neighbor/builder dug it up. he removed a huge chunk of my driveway because the original developers built it atop part of his land. this builder was the type of man who didn't learn how to play nicely and resolve simple problems in kindergarten. his answer to our multiple offers for resolution over the four years before he started construction was consistently, "i don't have to talk to you. sue me if you don't like it." so i did, and i kicked his ass and paid him nothing for the easement i now have over his land. i thought it fit this song well.
