dubious consolation

anne and i have gone to see live music pretty much every week for the past three or four in a row. i was feeling tired and a little derelict as a dad this past wednesday when the fleet foxes were scheduled to play at kilby court, so we decided to skip it. of course, there were morning after regrets, but then i discovered that their van broke down and they didn’t make it to slc anyway.

now they’re scheduled to open for wilco in a few weeks... a sold-out show... on a day that anne and i will be in mexico. so we still won’t get to see fleet foxes this summer, but at least it isn’t because i was too lazy to go this week.
