a bit of hope

the orb | "high noon" | the dream | 2007

every once in a while i get this strange combination of sensations coming in through the portals of my body that remind me of my oft-buried but indomitable hope. today it was: the weekend storm's trailing clouds on the mountains, my five-year-old son describing these clouds as "god's fire", the forthcoming new orb album (which is sounding more like the old orb, to my pleasure), and the autumn chill in the air. i was suddenly filled with an unanticipated optimism in the midst of despair. great gifts have come to me in small and unexpected ways.
