the shins | "turn on me" | wincing the night away | 2007
like modest mouse and the flaming lips, the shins are yet another band i had heard of but never checked out. to be honest, i hate their name and thought the band must be lame because its name was so unimaginative. about a month ago, eyun wrote about them on popscoff and i was instantly converted upon the hearing. they come to in the venue tomorrow night – phew! i opened up just in time.
