over the christmas break, santa "bittorrent" claus brought the orb discography to my desktop. consequently, the month of january has been largely an orb revival as i listened to hours of orb tunes i'd never heard before. as with all orb releases, except pomme fritz and orbus terrarum, there are many tracks on each disc that i do not like, and many others about which i say, "i've been waiting for music like this all my life." (it's almost as though the orb has a split personality: the meditative ambient side and the annoying dance club side.)
orbscure trax is the perfect illustration of this. its tracks alternate between clubby beats that i can't stand for more than 30 seconds and 15-minute remixes that i wish would go on for an hour.
